Volkswagen (means "people's car" in German) is one of the world's top four car manufacturers. The Beetle (or commonly called the bug) has been one of their staple models for close to 7 decades. The 2006 edition is available in two different models: The New Beetle and the New Beetle Convertible.

• (starting at $17,180)- The 2006 Beetle 2.5 has a 2.5L DOHC 20 valve I-5 in-line engine. This engine is capable of delivering 150 hp @ 5,000 rpm, and 170 lb.-ft. @ 3,750 rpm (torque). Its emissions type is LEV II, and it is available in front-wheel drive with a 5 speed manual transmission with overdrive. The 2.5 also comes with 4-wheel ABS and P205/55R16 H BSW AS tires. In terms of capacities, the 2.5 has 2,294 liters of passenger volume, is 4.1 meters in length, 1.5 meters in height, 1.7 meters in width, and has a wheel base of 2.5 meters. The fuel tank holds 14.5 gallons, and the fuel economy rating is 22/31 miles per gallon (city/highway).

2006 Volkswagen Beetle TDI

• (starting at $18,390)- The 2006 Beetle TDI comes standard with a 1.9L SOHC 8-valve I-4 diesel engine. This engine delivers 100 horsepower at 4,000 rpm, and has a torque of  177 lb.-ft. at 1,800 rpm. The 2006 TDI also comes standard with a 5 speed manual transmission with overdrive (this vehicle is a front-wheel drive) and R205/55R16.0 H BSW AS tires. The dimensions on the TDI are identical to that of the 2.5- .1 meters in length, 1.7 meters in width, 1.5 meters in height, and has a wheel base of 2.5 meters. Just like the 2.5, the TDI has a passenger volume of 2,294 liters (seating 4 people). The TDI has a fuel economy rating of 37/44 miles per gallon (city/highway) and holds roughly 14.5 gallons of fuel.
